New Year's Eve.

Your lovely photo inspires me to quote

I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown."
And he replied "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way."

oh mama; you don't miss a trick do you!! I love that context for the photo; perhaps I should change the post...?
lovely verse, in any case :)

I'm glad you liked it. It seemed particularly apt for today. It was quoted by George VI in his Christmas message given on the first Christmas of WWII and so has a special place in the hearts of many Britons.

Happy New Year!
